March is here! Are you getting the spring "bug"?
We are ready! Beginning March 13th, we will be open on Saturdays for the growing season. Hours
on Saturdays will be 8 am to 3 pm.
Start thatching and aerating and fertilizing your existing lawns! Thatching in particular needs to be
done before the lawn comes out of dormancy. See our page Caring For Your Lawn for more information.
Even though it is cold outside, you can begin thinking and planning for your spring yard and gardening.
Planting turf, trees and shrubs before the spring rains and hot summer weather allows for greater ease of transition
and establishment.
As the weather continues to warm up in the upcoming months, do not start pruning roses or shrubs.
The cold snaps will still come, along with plenty of freezing nights and these will cause die-back on freshly pruned
stems. Wait on pruning until at least May!
We are done digging specimen size trees (2-3" cal. and larger). Come out and see these beautiful,
impacting size trees. Planting these large trees early in the year allow for a long establishing season for root development
and is easier on the trees.
Our office hours are Monday-Friday 8 am - 5 pm.
We will begin opening on Saturdays - March 13th, 8 am - 3 pm.
